Las Vegas Speakeasies: My Three Favorites (and How to Do Them Right)

On my last trip to Vegas, I skipped the noisy casino bars and went straight for my favorite kind of nightlife: speakeasies. Vegas does them so well — hidden doors, dim lighting, great cocktails, and just enough mystery to make the night feel like a story.

Here are my top three:

1. The Barbershop (My Favorite)

This one is everything I love in a speakeasy: live music, low lights, a little grit, and a lot of personality.
You enter through an old-fashioned barbershop and end up in this dark, sexy lounge where the music feels like the heartbeat of the whole room.

The vibes are good for:
• dancing
• meeting people
• date nights
• girls’ nights
• or just posting up with a cocktail and people-watching

This is always my number one.

2. Ski Lodge (A Very Close Second)

Inside the Cosmopolitan.
It feels like stepping into an après-ski cabin — warm lighting, cozy wood, cocktails that feel like you’re in on a secret.
It’s laid-back, fun, playful, and honestly? Probably the cutest speakeasy in Vegas.

The vibes are perfect for:
• date number two or three
• winter aesthetic photos
• curling up in a booth
• a drink before slipping into somewhere louder

It’s intimate without trying too hard.

3. Ghost Donkey (Perfect to Start the Night)

This one is tiny, bright, mezcal-forward, and full of energy.
Red lights, disco vibes, and that classic “hidden behind the door” moment when you walk in.

It’s the perfect place to begin your night because:
• the drinks wake you up
• it’s quick, fun, and social
• it sets the mood without draining your energy
• you won’t get stuck there for hours (in a good way)

Start here, move to Ski Lodge, end at The Barbershop — that’s the winning order.

The Perfect Vegas Speakeasy Night

Ghost Donkey → Ski Lodge → The Barbershop
Warm up, settle in, then end somewhere electric.

Vegas can be chaotic, but speakeasies give it a little mystery, a little intimacy, and a lot of atmosphere — exactly how I like a night out to feel.
